What happens if a customer refuses to pay their hosting bill?
If a customer refuses to pay their hosting bill, their machines are pointed to the respective facility's pool account for a period of time to cover electricity costs. If payment is not received within one week, the facility reserves the right to turn off the machines, send machines back to the customer or sell the machines to cover costs.
Can the facilities increase the hosting price during the duration of the 12 month contract?
Facilities can increase the hosting price during the contract, however, it rarely happens, and it has not happened with any Compass facilities to date. If the facilities do increase the price, they must provide advance notice of such changes. In the event of perceived price-gouging or unfair business practices, the facility in violation will be terminated from Compass's program and every Compass client can recall their hardware with no penalty.
Do facilities have a minimum order quantity for hosting?
Most facilities have a minimum order quantity, while some facilities will accept as little as a single unit. You can view the minimum order quantity of each facility on the Facilities Page.
Compass Verified Facilities
How does Compass verify each facility?
All facilities are required to submit legal proof of business legitimacy (business licenses/ certificates), provide information about their security, and tell us about their technical support capabilities. In many cases, we have previously hosted machines in these facilities, and also speak with existing clients of the facility to learn more about their service. We have done physical walk-through of many of the facilities, although not all because of current travel restrictions.
Does Compass support GPU hosting?
Yes, Compass does support GPU hosting, however, not all facilities will accept GPU rigs. Each facility profile has information about whether the facility accepts ASIC machines, GPU rigs, or both.
How long does it take to ship newly purchased mining hardware?
It depends on the original location of the mining hardware and the location of the mining farm. If the machines are located in the same country as the mining farm, domestic shipping usually takes less than one week. If the machines are shipping from China to the USA or Canada, it can take three to four weeks for shipping. If ever in doubt, please contact the Compass Support Team.
